This scene displays a Jagdpanzer IV of the 2nd Panzer Division on the move in Normandy. These tank destroyers gained a reputation by taking out multiple allied tanks in the region.

During the Normandy campaign the Germans tried to blend in with their surroundings. Not only did they paint their vehicles with a camouflage scheme, they also utilised branches and bushes in order to make themselves invisible to the enemy. Allied reconnaissance jokingly mentioned that they were spotting moving bushes in the area.

The model comes from Hasegawa (kit nr. 31149). A nice kit. Side armour panels (Schürzen) were self made by utilising some thin transparant plastic sheets which were painted.

The black base is from Tamiya, for the ground work and foliage I used a variety of grasses, Vallejo Earth Texture and some pigments from MIG. A tree is made from sea foam, which was then sprinkled with micro leaves and foliage clusters from Woodland Scenics. The little fence was made from Plastic Card.
