about the Jeep

The 1⁄4-ton jeep became the primary light, wheeled, multi-role vehicle of the United States military and its allies. With some 640,000 units built, the 1⁄4‑ton jeeps constituted a quarter of the total military support motor vehicles that the U.S. produced during the war.

Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe in World War II, wrote in his memoirs that most senior officers regarded it as one of the five pieces of equipment most vital to success in Africa and Europe.

regarding the build

A very well engineered kit for a new or veteran scale modeler. I wasn’t as experienced as I’m now, but even with the skills which I had back then you can create a convincing model of a Willy’s Jeep. The fact that you can remove the hood in order to display the engine is a nice touch. I would 100% recommend this kit, it’s fun, affordable and available.

I’ve sold this model in 2023.
