Normandy 1944. A Hawker Typhoon Mk IB fires its rockets at a formation of German tanks which navigate through the bocage. With the fading power of the Luftwaffe, the allied airforce reigned the skies above the battlefield. Armed with rockets, these ground attack planes proved themselves by destroying trucks, trains and tanks of the enemy.
By 1943, the RAF needed a dedicated ground attack fighter and the Typhoon was suited to the role.
