Normandy 1944. A Hawker Typhoon Mk IB fires its rockets at a formation of German tanks which navigate through the bocage. With the fading power of the Luftwaffe, the allied airforce reigned the skies above the battlefield. Armed with rockets, these ground attack planes proved themselves by destroying trucks, trains and tanks of the enemy.
This scene takes place on a French airfield in 1940 and is called 'Rendezvous at the Junkers' where crew members meet up next to their Junkers JU 88 A-1 (belonging to 7./KG 54 Totenkopf) and discuss their experiences. A mechanic with toolbox is on it's way to his assignment and a guard with dog has a little chat with a serviceman.
Norway 1944. A storm unleashes itself above the cold restless sea, where a so called Kriegsfischkutter is navigating along the shoreline. The icy rain blows heavily in the wind, clouds are becoming darker and darker. Thunder flashes reveal silhouettes in the sky, Allied planes are closing in.
A Hawker Hurricane pilot of No. 85 Sqn. P2923 pulls the flight stick to gain altitude during a fierce battle above the iconic British cliffs. German fighters try to outmanoeuvre the British defenders, while one of the German planes has been hit, engulfed in a ball of fire it crashes in the sea.
