This scene takes place on a French airfield in 1940 and is called 'Rendezvous at the Junkers' where crew members meet up next to their Junkers JU 88 A-1 (belonging to 7./KG 54 Totenkopf) and discuss their experiences. A mechanic with toolbox is on it's way to his assignment and a guard with dog has a little chat with a serviceman.
Norway 1944. A storm unleashes itself above the cold restless sea, where a so called Kriegsfischkutter is navigating along the shoreline. The icy rain blows heavily in the wind, clouds are becoming darker and darker. Thunder flashes reveal silhouettes in the sky, Allied planes are closing in.
Crete, 1941. A German JU-52/3m transport plane – nicknamed Aunt Ju – arrives at the coast of the island of Crete. These Junkers were vital for the dropping of paratroopers and supplies during this campaign.
D-day, 1944. A Douglas C-47 of the 89th Troop Carrier Squadron navigates through the night sky, dropping it’s brave American paratroopers in Normandy. In the background a C-47 has been hit by flak fire, now managing the flight back home with a burning engine…
