Scale: 1/72 | Models used: Esci – StuG III (kit nr. 8328), Italeri – Opel Blitz (7014), figures from White Stork Miniatures

about this diorama

A Stug III from the 16th Panzer Division and it’s crew are glad to see that ammo and fuel has arrived with an Opel Blitz truck. After some labour the men take a break, with coffee and some rations. The next battle awaits.

regarding the build

The Stug kit has quite the timeline, with a tooling date going back to 1974. The time when Esci was producing scale model kits. Despite this, the kit offers enough detailed parts to make a convincing model. The same story can be applied to the Opel Blitz kit. What I like is that you can display the doors open, this makes the model a little bit more interesting. The mirrors and wipers were scratch-built, using pieces of stretched sprue.

The figures come from White Stork Miniatures. A company which I can highly recommend when it comes to these kind of 1/72 dioramas. The crates and barrels come from different suppliers. The jerrycans were included in the Stug kit, from what I can remember.

For the ground work and foliage I used Vallejo Earth Texture, different kinds of grass (brands like DioDump, The Army Painter) and seafoam for the trees. The pre-painted wooden block was ordered from Superhobby.com

I’ve sold this diorama in 2026.

This 1/144 scale diorama called 'Patrolling the sea' displays a so called Kriegsfischkutter from the German Navy navigating the waters around Norway. These small ships were armed and equipped to perform a variety of roles including minesweeping, anti-submarine warfare, patrol, and convoy escort.
This particular Chi-Ha tank of the 1st Tank Division was driving along the road, when suddenly it was engaged by two anti tank guns.
A Churchill AVRE of the 79th Armoured Division has arrived to place a bridge on a crossing where the previous bridge has been destroyed. Meanwhile British soldiers leave their Bren Carrier to secure the area.

Here you''ll find my latest scale models, from 1/72 tanks to 1/16 figures.

I utilise my scale models as subjects for artwork pieces, feel free to have a look.
