about this artwork

Normandy 1944. A Hawker Typhoon Mk IB fires its rockets at a formation of German tanks which navigate through the bocage. With the fading power of the Luftwaffe, the allied airforce reigned the skies above the battlefield. Armed with rockets, these ground attack planes proved themselves by destroying trucks, trains and tanks of the enemy. This scene displays an example of the effectiveness of these Typhoons.

The process of making my artwork pieces consists of different steps. I start out with gathering images and assets. Next is visualising the composition in my head, sometimes I sketch the idea on a piece of paper. After this I place the main subject, in this case the Typhoon, on the Photoshop artboard. With a tool I ‘cut out’ the plane from the white background.

Now comes the fun part, matching the scene with the main subject, a process where you need to look at the general lighting, highlights and shadows in correlation with the light source. I do all of this with so called ‘adjustment layers’. By adding some explosions, smoke and blurring the propellors I’ve made the scene more compelling.

Thinking about decorating your room? I sell these artwork pieces on canvas posters.

This scene takes place on a French airfield in 1940 and is called 'Rendezvous at the Junkers' where crew members meet up next to their Junkers JU 88 A-1 (belonging to 7./KG 54 Totenkopf) and discuss their experiences. A mechanic with toolbox is on it's way to his assignment and a guard with dog has a little chat with a serviceman.

This 1/144 scale diorama called 'Patrolling the sea' displays a so called Kriegsfischkutter from the German Navy navigating the waters around Norway. These small ships were armed and equipped to perform a variety of roles including minesweeping, anti-submarine warfare, patrol, and convoy escort.

Here you''ll find my latest scale models, from 1/72 tanks to 1/16 figures.

Explore my dioramas and vignettes which I built over the last few years.

I utilise my scale models as subjects for artwork pieces, feel free to have a look.
